New Life in France

Welcome,

Life in a village in the South of France has many similarities to life in a village in Australia, yet there are some unique cultural differences.

Pictures can tell a thousand words, my intention is to post pictures of village life in the "Lot" both photo's of our renovation project and my paintings.

Our French House first known date 1739 carved into a stone on the large entry stair case.

Our renovation project: We/my husband (french), with some help from me (Australian), are currently renovating our almost 300 year old stone house in a little village in the department Lot, in the South of France.

We have a great potager (vege garden) which we both enjoy and I paint, specialzing in water colour with the occasional Pastel when the mood takes me.

I am currently working on a series "Vie Dans La Village" "Life in The Village" which will be a collection of images of rural life in a French village.

My passion is colour and light, my favourite subject is people in harmony with their art/work. The amazing constructions of the area sometimes tempt me into landscape, while life in the home or garden provide a constant rich source of subject matter.

Keep an eye out for pics and stories from life in the village
